If you think a getaway to Great Wolf Lodge will be full of gimmicks and cheese; you’re right, but somewhere in the complimentary wolf ears and the massive water park is some old school family fun that makes the higher rated stay well worth it.
Even in the midst of the Covid pandemic, Great Wolf brought some Christmas cheer and magic to our hearts during our December stay. With creating magical meltable snow during story time, a delicious hot chocolate bar, a visit with Santa, complimentary Wolf ears for the whole family, an in house Build-a-bear workshop, the MagiQuest game, and of course the water park we enjoyed the good hearted fun of the lodge.
One of the great things about a winter stay at Great Wolf Lodge is that you don’t have
to venture outside unless you want to. With restaurants in the lodge and available add-on dining and experience packages you can spend then entire time warm and cozy inside the massive lodge without having to brave the cold, the traffic or finding the perfect parking spot unless you want to.
Since we stayed at the Charlotte/Concord location, there are plenty of take out and delivery options if nothing at the lodge suited your fancy. We love the massive Buffalo chicken sandwich at Iron Thunder right next door, but beware this is not kid friendly...takeout for us!
All in all we had a wonderful time at Great Wolf Lodge. The Kidds and the parents laughed and played until it hurt! We look forward to checking out another one of the numerous locations in the near future.
